President Prabowo Welcomed By Two North Luwu Teachers, Says Thank You For Being Restored

JAKARTA - There is something interesting about President Prabowo Subianto's return to the country after a one-day working visit to Australia.

When they returned home at Halim Perdanakuma Air Base, Jakarta, Thursday, November 13 in the morning, two teachers from North Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi, Abdul Muis and Rasnal were seen. They were present to receive a rehabilitation letter submitted directly by President Prabowo.

The two teachers also expressed their gratitude for President Prabowo Subianto's attention to the fate of regional teachers.

The same thing was conveyed by Rasnal, the former Head of SMA Negeri 1 North Luwu who is now teaching English at SMA Negeri 3 North Luwu.

The case that ensnared the two began five years ago when the Principal of SMAN 1 North Luwu received reports from ten honorary teachers who had not received a ten-month salary due to the absence of their names in the Dapodik system, the main requirement for disbursing BOS funds.

To find an emergency solution, the school together with the School Committee agreed to raise voluntary funds of Rp. 20,000 per parent, without requiring payment for underprivileged families or those with more than one child.

However, the internal policy was then questioned after an NGO reported it to the police.

Four teachers were examined, and two of them, Rasnal and Abdul Muis, were named suspects.

With the rehabilitation provided by President Prabowo, the two teachers have now regained their rights, dignity, and recognition of the professions they have been living in.
