140 Thousand Residents Have Not Been Served, DKI DPRD Asks For Microtrans To Enter Kalibaru

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD has asked the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to expand Microtrans services in urban villages that have not been touched by public transportation, especially Kalibaru Village, Cilincing, North Jakarta.

This was conveyed by a member of the DKI Jakarta DPRD Budget Agency, Ramli Muhamad. Ramli asked for the expansion of Jak Lingko services in Kalibaru to be allocated in the APBD for the 2026 fiscal year.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial DPRD asks Jakpro and Jaklingko to prioritize existing issues in the community regarding the transportation of Jaklingko which has not yet reached every village level, for example, Kalibaru Village," said Ramli at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Thursday, November 13.

Ramli said, Kalibaru has 140 thousand residents with 35 thousand families. From this condition, Ramli assessed that the need for public transportation services is needed by residents to move.

"This has been conveyed many times, including to the Governor and Deputy Governor. Hopefully the Governor ordered the Transportation Agency to carry it out," said Ramli.

Previously, the request for the expansion of JakLingko services was also disclosed by the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD in a plenary meeting to convey the general views of the factions on the Draft Regional Regulation (Ranperda) on the APBD for the 2026 Fiscal Year.

"The PKS faction requests that the coverage of microtrans services be expanded, reaching all areas of Jakarta," said the Deputy Chairperson II of the PKS faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Subki, Monday, September 8.

According to Subki, the presence of microtrans as feeder transportation (feeder) is very much needed to reach residential areas that have not been served by public transportation. Moreover, Transjakarta's main service has now expanded to the buffer zone of Jakarta through the Transjabodetabek program.

He considered that Transjakarta's success in expanding the large bus route to Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, to Bekasi had received a lot of public appreciation for facilitating inter-regional mobility. But on the other hand, many residents of the capital are still having trouble reaching bus or station stops because microtrans access is not evenly distributed.

"Many residential areas in Jakarta have not been reached by microtrans services as feeders to the next mode of transportation such as buses, MRT, LRT or commuter-line," said Subki.

PKS assesses that the expansion of the microtrans route will have a direct impact on reducing the use of private vehicles and reducing the cost of public transportation. With services that reach residential areas, it is easier for people to switch to public transportation without having to rely on online motorcycle taxis or private vehicles.

"If the microtrans route is expanded, he is sure, it can reduce the use of private vehicles and reduce public transportation costs," he concluded.
