BPKH Ready To Cooperative In KPK Investigation Regarding Alleged Corruption Of Hajj Funds
JAKARTA - The Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) respects the investigation carried out by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding allegations of corruption in supporting services for the pilgrimage. This step is an effort to realize clean and transparent governance of the government.
"BPKH will be fully cooperative and fully open, including in providing the data and information needed to help clarify the problem," said Fadlul in a written statement quoted on Thursday, November 13.
BPKH, continued Fadlul, is a public institution that obeys the law and seeks to always uphold the principle of presumption of innocence and fully submit the handling of this case to the competent authorities.
He also emphasized BPKH's commitment to maintaining the safety and accountability of hajj funds.
"BPKH ensures to all Indonesian pilgrims and the wider community that the management of hajj funds continues professionally, safely, and accountably," he said.
"In all its activities, BPKH is strongly committed to implementing the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG) which includes transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and justice," continued Fadlul.
Furthermore, BPKH also responded to the issue of sending goods from pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to Indonesia during the 1446 H Hajj season. Fadlul said, BPKH Limited, which is a subsidiary of the institution, is not a cargo service provider and does not carry out activities of receiving, transporting, handling, or supervising the property belonging to the congregation.
In the cooperation in question, he continued, BPKH Limited only acts as a local partner in collaboration with several Indonesian companies that have business licenses in the field of goods delivery services from Saudi Arabia to Indonesia.
"According to the applicable contract, the role and responsibility of BPKH Limited is limited and does not include cargo operational activities. Thus, BPKH Limited is not responsible for delays in sending or other operational problems that occur in the field," he said.
Previously reported, the KPK indicated that it was investigating allegations of corruption at the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH). This process departs from allegations of corruption in quotas and the implementation of Hajj in 2023-2024 at the Ministry of Religion which is now in the investigation stage.
"Then the questions about the involvement of BPKH and others. Well, we are also (investigating, red), but this has not yet been investigated, so it cannot be conveyed in detail," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters quoted on Tuesday, November 11.
Even so, Asep said, this investigation will explore a number of aspects related to the management or use of hajj funds. Among them are related to lodging or accommodation, catering to transportation for pilgrims from Indonesia.

"So this is just information, just clue. Later, we will also check the place where the accommodation lives, the catering and then also the transportation," he said.
"And there is also information related to the delivery of goods. Because our brothers and sisters who go for Hajj also send goods and others," continued Asep, who also serves as Director of KPK Investigations.
