Jambi Rice And Rice Production 2025 Increases By 30.9 Percent

JAMBI - Jambi rice and rice production during 2025 increased by 30.9 percent compared to last year, based on the results of a survey by the Jambi Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Area Survey (KSA).

"From the results of the data collection, the rice harvest area reaches 80.7 thousand hectares, an increase of 30.9 percent from 61.6 thousand hectares in 2024," said Head of BPS Jambi Province Agus Sudibyo as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, November 12.

He explained that the production of Panen Dry Grain (GKP) is estimated at 432.4 thousand tons, up 30.4 percent from 331.5 thousand tons compared to last year.

Meanwhile, the Dry Giling Grain (GKG) in 2025 reached 366.5 thousand tons, an increase of 85.5 thousand tons compared to 2024 with the achievement of dry milling unhulled rice of 281 thousand tons.

If converted into rice for consumption, the production of 2025 rice will reach 212 thousand tons, an increase of 30.4 percent or 49.4 thousand tons compared to 2024 of 162.5 thousand tons.

Agus added, during January to September 2025, Jambi rice production reached 300 thousand tons of GKG, up 47.9 percent from 202.9 thousand tons in 2024.

Meanwhile, the potential production from October to December 2025 is 66.3 thousand tons of GKG, bringing the total production to 366.5 thousand tons of GKG.

If converted to rice, production from January to September 2025 is equivalent to 173.6 thousand tons, an increase of 47.9 percent from 117.3 compared to 2024.

With the potential for October to December 38.4 thousand tons, the total is predicted to reach 212 thousand tons.

According to Agus, the highest production occurred in September at 31 thousand tons and the lowest was in November 9.9 thousand tons.

"This increase shows that the Jambi agricultural sector continues to grow and support food security and the welfare of farmers. Meanwhile, the district with the highest production is currently held by Kerinci Regency after Merangin and Tanjung Jabung Timur," said Agus Sudibyo.
