The Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs Of The Republic Of Indonesia Calls For The Revival Of The Spirit Of Solidarity In The Indonesian Congress
JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Arrmanatha Nasir, emphasized that efforts to revive the spirit of solidarity in order to realize peace and development are shared responsibility.
Speaking in "The 7th World Indonesianists Congress" which carries the theme "Reviving Bandung Spirit: Boosting South-South Cooperation Towards A More Prosperous and Stable World Order" held by the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia at the International Islamic University of Indonesia, Depok, West Java on November 12-13, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia is concerned about world conditions that currently face challenges in the form of conflict, rivalry and inequality.
In the midst of the resignation of the spirit of multilateralism and global solidarity, Bandung Spirit became relevant where the Asia Africa Conference in 1955 gave birth to values of solidarity, cooperation, mutual respect to equality.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs reminded that only countries that are strong, united, with international cooperation can maintain the upholding of justice and peace.
"It is our responsibility to jointly revive the spirit of solidarity and realize peace and development," said the diplomat who is familiarly called Pak Tata, Wednesday, November 12.
By being guided by Bandung Spirit, "we can build a fairer and more inclusive world order," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Indonesia's International Islamic University, Jamhari Makruf, said that the congress, which coincided with the 70th anniversary of the Asia Africa Conference, was appropriate to be used to reflect on what had been achieved with Bandung Spirit and how to make it relevant to the current global challenges.

He added that the congress, which was attended by a majority of academics, researchers and diplomats, was attended by representatives from 15 countries.
