Ukraine Continues Brawl Exchange Negotiations With Russia

JAKARTA - The head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, to discuss the exchange of prisoners of war with Russia.

"Currently, I will work in Turkey and the Middle East to unblock the exchange process. There has been an agreement, and we need to implement it," Umerov said via Telegram as reported by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, November 12.

According to Umerov, the meeting is scheduled for Turkey to discuss the resumption of the exchange. He did not specify who would participate in the meeting.

In the last or third round of direct negotiations in Istanbul, which took place on July 23, Russia and Ukraine agreed to exchange prisoners of war and civilians.

In addition, Moscow has proposed to Kiev to form three groups that will work online on political, humanitarian and military issues. However, the Kremlin stated that it had not received a response to this proposal.

Apart from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia as well as Qatar mediated the humanitarian exchange between Russia and Ukraine.
