This was conveyed directly by the Director General of IKFT of the Ministry of Industry, Taufiek Bawazier, in the Commission VII DPR RI Hearing Meeting (RDP) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 12.

Taufiek said that this achievement shows that the IKFT sector is still quite attractive for investors. The sector was also able to grow to 5.92 percent in the third quarter of 2025.

"We see from the investment value that this continues to show that the IKFT sector in January to September has increased by around Rp. 142.15 trillion. So there is continued attractive investment in Indonesia, especially for the IKFT sector," said Taufiek.

The amount of investment increased compared to the same period in 2024 with an investment value of IDR 116.54 trillion. The largest investment was recorded by the chemical and goods industry from chemicals that reached IDR 58.2 trillion.

As for the details, around Rp. 88.69 trillion is an investment originating from abroad, while Rp. 53.47 trillion is a domestic investment. From the export and import performance, the chemical industry is one of the largest export contributors, reaching 14.58 billion US dollars, followed by the skin industry, leather and footwear goods worth 6 billion US dollars.

"So, our top export is still the chemical and chemical goods industry of Rp. 14.58 billion US dollars, the skin industry, leather and footwear items of around 6 billion US dollars, the clothing industry is around 5.87 billion US dollars," he said.

"But the advantage of this textile is that the workforce is quite large, almost 3.9 million people. Then the skin, leather and footwear industry shares around 0.23 percent, and the chemical industry, pharmaceuticals and traditional medicines are 1.87 percent," he explained.
