Chinese Trucks Start Rampant In Indonesia, Fuso Highlights Not Fair Competition
JAKARTA - PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB) as the official distributor of Mitsubishi Fuso commercial vehicles in Indonesia, highlighted the presence of trucks from China that flooded the country's commercial market.
According to Sales and Marketing Director of PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors Aji Jaya, there has been unfair competition and has caused the commercial vehicle market in Indonesia to experience a decline in sales.
Referring to Gaikindo's data, sales of commercial wholesales vehicles for the period January to August 2025 reached 39,919 units. This figure decreased drastically by 19 percent compared to the previous year which touched 43,043 units.
Mitsubishi Fuso itself in the Light Duty segment, Medium Duty, to Tractor Head reached 15,702 units. This figure is down 11.4 percent compared to the same period last year of 17,727 units.
"It can be said as a threat that we may consider competition unfair. Competition in business is normal and we consider it reasonable, but for this it is unfair," he said, when met in the Cakung area, East Jakarta, Wednesday, November 12.

Not without reason, according to him, the burdensome competition in terms of regulations that until now there are commercial vehicles from China that are sold do not meet the requirements or regulations from the government.
"If you see some time ago there was an exhibition and a Chinese brand showing off the vehicle that was not appropriate, such as Euro 2 and Euro 3, some of the designs were not appropriate. That was not in accordance with the rules, even though it was mandatory for Euro 4," he added.
Regarding the above, Mitsubishi Fuso has coordinated with several parties, including the Gaikindo industry association, but until now there have been no concrete steps.
"Of course, there has been a communication effort, unfortunately so far there has been no concreteness from the government to protect it in real terms," he explained.
