To Handle Public Complaints, Ministry of Manpower Launches 'Lapor Menaker' Channel
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) has launched the "Lapor Menaker" channel, demonstrating its commitment to providing accessible, transparent, and responsive public services to the public's needs in the employment sector.
Minister of Manpower Yassierli explained that this channel is designed to make it easier for the public to submit reports, complaints, and grievances related to the implementation of labor norms in the field.
"We hope that with this application, it will be easier for the public to submit information, complaints, and grievances, especially those related to work norms, K3 norms, harmonious industrial relations, and internship programs if there are any deviations that require our follow-up," said the Minister of Manpower in a press conference at the Kemnaker Building on Wednesday, November 12.
Yassierli added that Lapor Menaker is an official channel that integrates various public reporting channels so that complaints can be followed up quickly and effectively.
He explained that prior to its launch, we conducted a trial and received around 600 reports or complaints.
Most of them related to wages and social security.
"We classify these reports, determining which ones will be followed up directly by the Ministry of Manpower through the Manpower Supervisory Agency, which ones fall under the authority of provincial or district/city offices, the Social Security Agency for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), and some even require coordination with the National Police's Manpower Desk," he explained.
The existence of Lapor Menaker also demonstrates the Ministry's efforts to open two-way communication with the public and strengthen public trust in government services.
"For example, some people have submitted complaints through social media platforms like Instagram, which we haven't always been able to systematically detect. Therefore, we hope that all reports can now be integrated through the official Lapor Menaker channel. We also guarantee the confidentiality of reporters' identities so that the public feels safe and comfortable in submitting complaints," he emphasized.
