Colombia Suspends Intelligence Communications With US In The Aftermath Of Ship Attacks In The Caribbean
Colombian President Gustavo Petro ordered a suspension of intelligence communication between state security forces and US agencies following the US naval attacks on ships in the Caribbean region.
CNN reports citing sources said Kolombia suspended the division of intelligence with the US regarding suspicious ships in the Caribbean over concerns that US attacks on these ships violated international law.
"All levels of public security intelligence have been ordered to suspend the distribution of information and other forms of interaction with the US structure. This measure will remain in effect as long as missile attacks on ships in the Caribbean continue," Petro said.
"The war against drug trafficking must be subject to human rights of society in the Caribbean region," he continued.
