Ariel Calls Digitalization An Important PR In Revision Of Copyright Law
JAKARTA - Ariel NOAH was present as a member of the Indonesian Voice Vibration (VISION) at the General Hearing Meeting (RDPU) with the Legislation Body (Baleg) of the DPR regarding the revision of the Copyright Law (UUHC) at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, November 11.
As is known, the revision of the Copyright Law is included in the 2025 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas), after previously being proposed by Melly Goeslaw.
Then, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, in a consultation meeting on August 21, said that the DPR and stakeholders agreed that the revision of the Copyright Law could be completed within two months.
However, until now, the sign of the revision of the Copyright Law has been completed soon, it is still not visible.
According to Ariel, the length of the process of discussing the revision of the Copyright Law is due to the complexity of the problems that must be resolved. In addition, there are also many parties who have an interest in it.
"So, maybe the length (revision) is because this is indeed a complex, homework that has not been done for a long time," Ariel told the media crew after the RDPU.

"So it's being bullied now. It's really a bit tough. There are a lot of stakeholders. There's a lot to be called," he continued.
Furthermore, the NOAH vocalist highlighted the importance of implementing digitalization, especially its implementation by the National Collective Management Institute (LMKN).
"Indeed, there is still a lot of homework, especially digitization, as soon as possible, that's very important," he said. The new LMKN (Commissioner), they have made several changes, that's all it looks like the results have changed. Hopefully with digitalization as soon as possible it can have more impacts.
However, Ariel stated that Visi did not want to be too urgent so that the revision would be completed immediately. Especially for them, the Copyright Law can help the music industry continue to grow.
"We don't want to be too forced, because this country also has a lot of interest. But we are one of those who want to be prioritized too, because the industry occurs every day. Yes, we can only pray, hopefully as soon as possible," he concluded.
