Welcoming Children's Birth, Ginting Cancels Appearance At The 2025 Australian Open
JAKARTA Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will certainly be absent from the 2025 Australian Open next week because it coincides with the birth of his first child.
Head of the Development and Achievement Division (Head of Binpres) PBSI, Eng Hian, said that his party respects Ginting's decision to accompany his family.
"Families are an important part of the balance of life of an athlete. We believe Ginting will return with stronger motivation," said Eng Hian in the statement.
In the men's singles, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah was also withdrawn from the list of participants because the match schedule coincided with the academic exam he had to undergo.
Eng Hian emphasized that PBSI strongly supports the athlete's commitment to education as part of character development.

"We want athletes to continue to balance careers and education. Development is not only a matter of achievement in the field, but also a complete personal development," he said.
In addition, the men's doubles Bagas Maulana/Leo Rolly Carnando also did not take part in the 2025 Australian Open because they were focused on the intensive preparation program for the 2025 SEA Games.
Another name that could not participate was the mixed doubles Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah. The couple canceled their appearance because Amri had smallpox, which made the preparation time for the tournament insufficient.
"This decision was taken to maintain health and prevent the risk of declining performance. We want to make sure they recover completely before returning to competition," said Eng Hian.
The Australia Open 2025 with a Super 500 BWF level is scheduled to take place on 18-23 November 2025. The event provides a prize of 475 thousand US dollars.
