JAKARTA - A total of eight of the largest domestically bottled Drinking Water (AMDK) companies in the country, including Aqua, have finally revealed the source of the water raw materials they use.

Do all companies use mountain springs?

In a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VII DPR today, as many as eight AMDK companies finally revealed the water sources they used.

The eight AMDK companies, namely PT Panfila Indosari (RON 88); PT Amidis Tirta Mulia (Amidis); PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (Le Minerale); PT Muawanah Al Ma'soem (Al Masoem); PT Super Wahana Tehno (Pristine); PT Tirta Investama (Aqua), PT Sariguna Primatirta Tbk (CLEO); and PT Jaya Lestari Sejahtera (Le Yasmin).

Eight of the four AMDK brands claimed to have taken drinking water from mountain springs, namely RON 88 (Mandalawangi Mountains spring, Bandung Regency), Al Masoem (a mountain spring in Cileunyi, West Bandung Regency), Pristine (a spring of Mount Pangrango, Bogor Regency) and Aqua (a spring of several mountains).

The AMDK company that claims to have taken drinking water from mountain springs is PT Panfila Indosari, a drinking water producer for the RON 88 brand.

The company claimed to have taken it from the spring of the Mandalawangi Mountains in Bandung Regency, precisely in Cicalengka District.

"We are from PT Panfila Indosari, our AMDK product with the RON 88 brand. The location of our factory is in Bandung Regency. We use natural springs from mountains, because the location of our factory is also at the foot of Mount Mandalawangi, precisely in Cicalengka District, Bandung Regency. So, our source uses mountain springs that come out directly through rock gaps without drilling," said a representative from PT Panfila Indosari when giving an explanation in RDP with Commission VII DPR at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, November 10.

Meanwhile, PT Muawanah Al Ma'soem, a producer of drinking water, Al Masoem, revealed that the drinking water comes from the spring of the Mangliding Mountains in Bandung Regency, where the factory is 6 kilometers (km) from the mountains.

"We took it from the spring of Mount Mangliding, 6 km from Cileunyi, Bandung Regency, outside the Cileunyi Toll Road, it looks like the mountain. Well, our factory position is not far from there," said a representative from PT Muawanah Al Ma'soem.

Next, there is a Pristine-branded drinking water producer, PT Super Wahana Tehno, whose party said that the source of drinking water came from the spring of Mount Pangrango.

"We use a mountain spring in Bogor Regency, precisely from Mount Pangrango, including its use from Mount Pangrango," said Edwin as Director of PT Super Wahana Tehno.

Meanwhile, there are four companies that took drinking water from drill or groundwater wells, namely PT Amidis Tirta Mulia (Amidis), PT Tirta Fresindo Jaya (Le Minerale), PT Sariguna Primatirta Tbk (CLEO) and PT Jaya Lestari Sejahtera (Le Yasmin). Especially for Le Yasmin, his party said, the water source came from a well in the Sentul area, Bogor Regency.

"Our company is precisely in Sentul, Bogor. For raw water, we use deep well ground water sources. Incidentally, we have four SIPA permits with an average depth of 100-120 meters," explained PT Jaya Lestari Sejahtera (Le Yasmin) representative.
