JCI Closed Wednesday, Increasing 0.83 Percent To 4,567.32

JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) closed higher on trading Wednesday, April 29. JCI today managed to maintain its gains and closed up 0.83 percent or 37.77 points to the level of Rp4,567.32.

In closing the trade, 202 stocks rose, 183 stocks fell, and 149 stocks remained unchanged. The trading volume was recorded at 5.79 billion shares and was transacted for IDR 6.03 trillion.

Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji Gustama, said the strengthening of the JCI was driven by positive sentiment that came from the discourse of loosening regional quarantine in Europe and the United States.

"The market appreciates various fiscal stimulus programs from other countries. Previously the market also appreciated monetary easing programs by several central banks in other countries," Nafan told VOI.

This afternoon, stocks that were among the top gainers, including PT Sejahtera Bintang Abadi Textile Tbk (SBAT) which rose 22.81 percent to IDR140, PT Wismilak Inti Makmur Tbk (WIIM) which rose 12.93 percent to IDR131. and PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) which strengthened 10.29 percent to Rp2,250.

Meanwhile, stocks that are among the top losers include PT Repower Indonesia Tbk (REAL) which fell 6.85 percent to Rp68, PT Indonesia Tobacco Tbk (ITIC) which fell 6.15 percent to Rp2,900, and PT Transcoal Pacific Tbk (TCPI), which weakened 5.54 percent to IDR4,430.
