Surya Paloh Convinces NasDem Cadres: We Are Consistent In The Barisan Supporting Government

Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, emphasized his party's commitment to remain in the ranks of supporters of the government of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

This was convinced by Surya even though until now there has been no representative of the NasDem Party in the ranks of the Red and White Cabinet. Surya asked all cadres to maintain consistency and contribute so that the government can run successfully.

"As a party, a political party institution that has been and remains committed as a supporter of the Prabowo-Gibran government. I also want to convince you, brothers and sisters, hopefully, God willing, our consistency will remain with us. We are indeed a line that supports this government," said Surya Paloh at the 14th Anniversary of the NasDem Party in NasDem Tower, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 11.

Surya emphasized that the success of the government is part of the success of the party, while the government's failure is also a moral responsibility for all NasDem cadres.

"We want this government to be successful. We want this government to be successful. The success of this government is also part of our success. The failure of this government, that is the punishment and sorrow for us," he said.

In the momentum of NasDem's 14th birthday, Surya Paloh invited all cadres to be grateful for the journey of the party which has been able to overcome various challenges since its establishment. He considered that the long journey shows the strength of the ideology and commitment of cadres who are consistent with the movement of change.

Surya then explained the electoral achievements of NasDem since participating in the first election. He said his party managed to get 36 seats in the DPR in the first election, then increased to 59 seats in the next election, and finally 69 seats in the 2024 election.

"Unfortunately, because of our ability, our tenacity consolidates our ranks. NasDem remains victorious in raising his seat from 59 seats to 69 seats," he said.

Surya considered that achievement was not easy. Given the political dynamics ahead of the 2024 General Election, NasDem was full of pressure and tests because he had not yet joined the Prabowo-Gibran coalition.

"There, the battle between consistency continues to bring the flow of change or we are trapped in pragmatism. We choose, whatever the risk we face, we will continue to be consistent in bringing the flow of the movement of change," he said.

According to him, in the midst of the temptation of pragmatism and group interests, NasDem must remain a party that adheres to moral values and is devoted to the nation.

"When the temptation of pragmatism, the temptation to justify all actions for personal and group interests arises, we say that is not the place for NasDem, it is not NasDem my brother," he said.

"Being in this party, is not just to trace the career of our personal life. It is true that we have personal interests, but that is just a coma. We must continue to move, because we want the totality of our service to be for the glory of the interests of our beloved nation and country," concluded Surya.
