After Being Questioned By The KPK Regarding Governor Abdul Wahid's OTT, Riau Regional Secretary Continues To Work As Usual

RIAU - Regional Secretary of Riau Province Syahrial Abdi returned to his usual activities within the Riau Provincial Government after undergoing an examination by investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) related to the hand arrest operation (OTT) that ensnared the inactive Governor Abdul Wahid.

Syahrial emphasized that his examination was part of the investigation procedure and did not interfere with his duties as a government apparatus.

"The commotion is normal. We are doing activities normally. Earlier we had a meeting to control inflation and continued the opening here," he said when met at the Environment Agency activities in Pekanbaru, Tuesday, November 11.

Syahrial revealed that the examination by the KPK lasted for about two hours, starting at the Riau Governor's Office and continuing to his official residence. He mentioned investigators' questions

When asked about the possibility of his involvement in the corruption case being investigated by the KPK, Syahrial answered briefly, 'Safe (unrelated) then that's the understanding.'

Previously, on Monday (10/11), KPK investigators conducted a search at the Riau Governor's Office as part of an investigation into alleged extortion corruption that dragged the inactive Governor Abdul Wahid.

In this activity, the KPK also asked for information from a number of officials, including the Syahrial Abdi Provincial Secretary.

After the examination, Syahrial was seen riding one of the investigative cars at the Riau Governor's Office complex. Apart from himself, the Head of the Riau Provincial Secretariat Protocol Section was also questioned.

KPK sebelumnya menetapkan Abdul Wahid sebagai tersangka pada Rabu lalu. Setelah penetapan itu, penyidik melakukan penggeledahan di beberapa lokasi di Pekanbaru, termasuk Rumah Dinas Gubernur Riau, rumah Kadis PUPR-PKPP M. Arif Setiawan, dan rumah pribadi Tenaga Ahli Pemprov Riau Dani Nursalam.

The KPK previously named Abdul Wahid as a suspect last Wednesday. After the determination, investigators conducted searches at several locations in Pekanbaru, including the Riau Governor's Office House, the house of the Head of PUPR-PKPP M. Arif Setiawan, and the private house of Riau Provincial Government Expert Dani Nursalam.
