Pertamina Lirik Opportunities To Work On Tuna Blocks
JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) opens the opportunity to work on the Tuna Block together with the Russian oil and gas company, Zarubezhneft.
Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri said that his party always looks at every potential that can increase the achievement of oil and gas lifting and production.
"If there is an opportunity for us to increase the lifting, of course we will encourage and we want to take part," Simon told the media crew, quoted on Tuesday, November 11.
Simon added, if it gets the trust of the government to work on this oil and gas field in the Natuna Sea, Pertamina ensures that it follows all procedures set by the government.
"Just follow the procedure later. From the rules, compliance, etc. However, the point is that as long as it can increase production, of course, we welcome it well," continued Simon.
Previously, the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) revealed that the Russian oil and gas giant, Zarubezhneft, would continue with the plan for development or plan of development (POD) of the Tuna Block.
On the other hand, Harbour Energy, who was previously a partner, decided to leave the Tuna Block. For this reason, Zarubezhneft is currently looking for a replacement partner to work on this oil and gas block located off the North Natuna Beach.

Met on the same occasion, Deputy for Exploration, Development and Management of the Working Area, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus said, for the first development plan in the Tuna Block, Harbor Energy decided to leave.
According to Rikky, this is due to the continuing sanctions from the western state on Russia.
"So for the POD 1 Tuna, there was indeed a position from the previous KKKS Harbor that he could not continue if there was a SANCTION US, right next to him (Zarubezhneft)," said Rikky.
