Transjabodetabek Bus Throws Smoke In Jatinegara, All Passengers Are Safe
JAKARTA - Transjabodetabek bus route B25 Bekasi In Upper Hamlet emitted smoke from the exhaust while crossing the Jatinegara area, East Jakarta, this morning.
Field officers immediately evacuated all passengers and confirmed that there were no casualties in the incident.
Head of the Public Relations and CSR Transjakarta Department, Ayu Wardhani, explained that the incident occurred at around 06.48 WIB when the bus with the MYS 21290 fleet number was heading towards Galunggung.
"On Monday, November 10, 2025, at 06.48 WIB, a fleet of Transjakarta operators (MYS 21290) reportedly emitting smoke from the exhaust while crossing from Jatinegara to Galunggung," Ayu told reporters, Monday, November 10.
Once smoke is detected, drivers and supervisors immediately stop the bus and move all customers to the replacement fleet. The move was taken to prevent the risk of a fire amid traffic congestion in the morning.
"Drivers and officers immediately evacuated all customers to other buses. All customers are confirmed safe. There is one customer who panicked and broke the glass during the evacuation," said Ayu.

The fleet was then withdrawn to the pool for further technical checks by the operator team. To date, there have been no reports of major damage to the engine, but the cause of the smoke is still being investigated. Ayu apologized for the travel disturbances experienced by customers.
"The fleet was immediately withdrawn and a technical examination was carried out. Transjakarta apologized for the inconvenience and travel disturbances that occurred. Customer safety is our top priority," he added.
