Responding To Bobibos Fuel, Pertamina Boss Says This
JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Simon Aloysius Mantiri opened his voice regarding the emergence of a new fuel oil (BBM) named Bobibos which is claimed to have a high octane value but has a low emission.
According to Simon, he welcomed the presence of this new fuel considering that this was a positive innovation for Indonesia. He also asked the public not to make Bobibos a competitor to Pertamina.
"So yesterday there may have been people who said there was "wah, this is Pertamina's rival". For me, I always think of red and white interests," Simon told the media crew when met at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Monday, November 10.
Instead of seeing him as a competitor, Simon actually opened up opportunities for collaboration between the innovation fuel of the nation's children and Pertamina, which is a state-owned oil and gas company.
Simon said Pertamina has two growth focuses or dual growth, namely the fossil fuel business (fuel fossil) and low-carbon business.
"So whatever it is, we should look for a collaborative path. Pertamina also has dual growth: fossil fuels and low carbon business. So maybe we can also collaborate," said Simon.
Previously, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources expressed its appreciation for the innovations made. The Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Laode Sulaeman, emphasized that the fuel suitable for vehicle consumption takes longer because it is undergoing a long testing process.

"I don't dare to say names and others, but it doesn't reduce my appreciation for the innovation of the nation's children. But as I explained, to test a fuel and then become fuel, it's at least 8 months, then we will decide whether this is feasible or not," Laode said as quoted on Saturday, November 8.
Regarding claims that he has pocketed a certificate, Laode emphasized that Bobibos had just submitted a laboratory test proposal. The results are still not public.
"So, they proposed a test at our laboratory. But the test results are still a secret agreement, meaning it's still closed. I can't convey that yet," said Laode.
