Latest BYD Atto 3 Equipped With Bigger Battery, Offers Distance To 650 Km
JAKARTA - BYD appears to be preparing a surprise for its latest Yuan Plus model, also known as the Atto 3, in Indonesia. This model will receive a battery capacity upgrade.
Quoting Carnewschina on Monday, November 10, according to a MIIT report, the SUV will be equipped with a 74.8 kWh LFP battery, offering a CLTC range of 650 km.
For comparison, the current model is equipped with a 49.92 kWh or 60.48 kWh Blade battery, offering a CLTC range of 430 km or 510 km, respectively. This represents a significant increase for this SUV already available in Indonesia.
Previously, the Chinese Ministry of Labor (MIIT) revealed that the updated BYD Atto 3 will be equipped with a 230 kW (308 hp) TZ200XYC permanent magnet electric motor, an increase of 80 kW (107 hp) from the current 150 kW (201 hp). The top speed has also increased from 160 km/h to 180 km/h.
In terms of appearance, the updated BYD Atto 3 remains largely unchanged, but the addition of new five-spoke gray wheels adds a sporty touch. The 18-inch wheels remain the same, and the tire specifications are 215/55 and 235/50.
Furthermore, the charging port has been moved from the right front fender to the right rear fender. Other configurations include a standard panoramic sunroof and optional front radar, side radar, side cameras, rearview camera, and window trim.
Meanwhile, its dimensions remain unchanged at 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. Due to the increased battery capacity, the kerb weight of the updated BYD Atto 3 has increased to 1,880 kg, which is 190 kg to 255 kg heavier than the current model.
Pricing for the new car has not been announced at this time. For reference, the current model is priced between 111,800 and 141,800 yuan (approximately Rp262 million to Rp332 million). It also features BYD's "God's Eye" C advanced driving assistance system across the series, supported by 29 sensors, including five millimeter-wave radars, 12 high-definition cameras, and 12 ultrasonic radars.
