Blur Bassist Alex James Praises The Success Of The Oasis Reunion Tour
Blur Bassist Alex James said he was happy for the revival of their eternal rival in the Britpop era, Oasis, who is currently on their reunion tour.
As is known, Blur and Oasis are known for their 'feud' as the best pop band in the 1990s.
But with James' praise for Oasis at the moment, the feud appears to be over.
The 56-year-old bassist said the band reunion tour from Manchester was very successful.
"I'm really excited for them," James said in an interview with the Mirror, quoted Sunday, November 9.
He highlighted the success of the Gallagher brothers, Noel and Liam, who finally reconciled.
So many bands end up hating each other, or dying, or hating what they're doing. It was amazing to see Noel and Liam finally make peace and really shock, "added James.
The bassist also talked about Blur's feud with Oasis. He saw the competition from a different point of view, far from the drama that was created at that time.
"I just thought it was funny, at the time. Honestly, I thought the whole thing was ridiculous," he said.
"I have great respect for Oasis. And the world will be a more boring place without them, right?" added Jmaes.
Furthermore, he said that the current revival of Britpop music did not only happen to Oasis.
Another band, Radiohead, has also started their first tour in seven years.
"Look, Radiohead is also back on tour now... it feels like all these bands suddenly become adults, like a mature wine. And people at the concert know every lyric of every song your teenage music will never disappear," he said.
In the midst of the great success of the Oasis reunion, James doubted that Blur would follow similar steps by returning to the massive music stage.

He said Damon Albarn's vocalist was too busy for that.
"I went to see Damon's operas in the spring, then a few months later a Gorillaz show, and now he's working on the Africa Express. Damon does make us all look lazy," he joked.
"But no, I'm quite happy to be busy with Britpop Classical," concluded Alex James.
