Regarding The Hansip Shooting In Cakung, Police: The Joint Team Is Hunting For The Perpetrators
The police are hunting for the perpetrator of the shooting of an hansip named Atim Suhara (42) who died while trying to thwart the theft of a motorcycle (curanmor) in Cakung, East Jakarta, Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the morning.
Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto said a joint team from the East Jakarta Metro Police and the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya had been dispatched to investigate the case.
"Currently members in the field are still working. We hope that in the near future the perpetrators can be caught soon. Please give time to colleagues so that friends in the field can work optimally," Budi told reporters, at Polda Metro Jaya, Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Budi explained that the police had conducted a crime scene (TKP) and examined a number of witnesses, including from Pam Swakarsa and local residents.
"From the community and Pam Swakarsa, about three to five people have been questioned. We are also investigating the evidence at the location," he added.

Previously, the victim of Atim along with two colleagues T (48) and R (58) were conducting a night patrol. From CCTV monitoring, they saw two unidentified people dismantling an automatic motorcycle. When approached, one of the perpetrators took out a firearm and fired two shots, one of which hit Atim's left abdomen until he fell down.
The victim was rushed to the hospital, but his life could not be saved. Until now, the police are still pursuing the two perpetrators who fled after the incident.
