Police Search For Motives And Explosives At SMA 72 North Jakarta

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto, emphasized that currently scientific investigations are being carried out by the Puslabfor Police Headquarters together with Densus 88.

According to him, the results of laboratory tests will determine whether the material is a type of hazardous explosive.

"We matched the evidence found at the location with the results of searches elsewhere," Budi said to the media at Polda Metro Jaya, South Jakarta, Saturday, November 8, 2025.

Budi said that until now there has been no indication of a connection with the terror network. Therefore, he asked the public to be patient and not speculate before the results of the scientific examination were announced.

Budi ensured that the National Police would convey the complete results of the investigation into the explosion case at SMA Negeri 72 Kelapa Gading in a transparent manner.

"The results from Densus 88, Puslabfor, Gegana, and Reskrim will be compiled so that information to the public is not biased," he explained.

Furthermore, Budi emphasized that the policeuga had not found the connection between the perpetrators and the terror network. However, Densus 88 continues to explore all possibilities based on laboratory results and examination of witnesses.

"After later collecting and analyzing evidence from the crime scene, the results of the search, matching all of them. From witness statements, Polda Metro Jaya will convey it in full. So that there is no bias on the issue of motives or incidents that occur," he said again.

The National Police is committed to handling this case professionally and scientifically, while still protecting the rights of children involved in the incident.

"We both maintain that there are special rights that must be fulfilled, namely protection of identity and special treatment for children who are in conflict with the law," he said.
