East Java PDIP Sorry Ponorogo Regent Netted OTT KPK: Corruption Is A Betrayer Of People's Trust
JAKARTA - The East Java PDI-P DPD apologized for the arrest of the Regent of Ponorogo, Sugiri Sancoko, during the Hand Catch Operation (OTT) by the Indonesian KPK on Friday, November 7. The East Java PDIP DPD believes that acts of corruption are a form of betrayal of people's trust.
"Representing the organization, the East Java PDI-P DPD apologized to all residents of Ponorogo Regency for the arrest of Mr. Sugiri Sancoko by the KPK, who is also a PDI-P cadre. We apologize that the person concerned has not been fully trusted in leading, and has injured people's trust, and has not fully carried out his responsibility to bring the people of Ponorogo prosperous," said Chairman of the East Java PDI-P DPD, Said Abdullah in his statement, Saturday, November 8.
Therefore, the East Java PDIP DPD supports the efforts of various parties, especially the KPK in eradicating corruption. Said said the East Java PDIP DPD also fully respects the authority and legal processes being carried out by the KPK.
"And invite us all to prioritize the principle of presumption of innocence, until the person concerned is found guilty through a legal decision that has permanent legal force by the court," he said.

Said emphasized that the East Java PDIP upholds the independence of the KPK. As mandated by the PDIP Chairman Megawati Soekarnoputeri, that party cadres always uphold the attitude of integrity.
"Thus it will not affect, let alone intervene in the legal process," he said.
Said added, this event will be a reflection of the evaluation for the East Java PDIP DPD to continue to improve, improve in, especially related to cadre development so that similar incidents do not happen again in the future.
"As well as improving the head election system and deputy regional heads so that they do not have expensive costs, which have the potential for candidates to be elected to commit criminal acts of corruption," he concluded.
