The National Police Chief Prepares A Rapid Reporting Feature At The Online Ojek To Protect Kamtibmas

BANDUNG - Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that he would immediately collaborate with the online motorcycle taxi application to release a fast telephone feature to maintain public order security or kamtibmas.

"Currently, the National Police will also cooperate with online transportation applicators to add a quick call feature to the system so that drivers can report findings of problems that require a quick police response," said the National Police Chief while leading the Ojek Online Kamtibmas rally in Bandung, West Java, Saturday.

According to him, the preparation of the cooperation is a form of synergy between the National Police and the online motorcycle taxi community in order to maintain security and social security in the community.

Listyo also said that online motorcycle taxis are a strategic partner of the National Police in maintaining public order and hopes to reach all levels of society as an effort to prevent security disturbances.

"Online motorcycle taxi community is a strategic partner in maintaining Kamtibmas. We hope to interact directly with all levels of society so that it can help prevent security or crimes that will occur on the streets," he continued.

The National Police Chief also said that he would draft regulations on protection which would later be planned in the form of presidential regulations and the government was discussing.

"The drafting plan is being discussed by the government through the Ministry of Manpower," he added.

The intended context of protection includes social security, work accident guarantees, and death insurance. Listyo also said that online motorcycle taxis have become an important part of strengthening the national economy so that motorists need to get welfare guarantees.

"So, the role of ojol is very significant because it contributes 61.9 percent to national gross domestic product and absorbs more than 1.19 million workers," he said.
