Jailed Then Went Bankrupt: Now Ronaldinho Lives In Luxury In Dubai And Wears A IDR 3.2 Billion Watch
JAKARTA - Ronaldinho has been in bankruptcy. However, photos on social media showed the former Barcelona star enjoying a luxurious life in the United Arab Emirates.
The Brazilian legend received 'The Golden Residency' in the city of Dubai announced by the Directorate General of Residency and Foreign Affairs, Dubai (GDRFAD) on May 18.
GDRFAD shared a post on Instagram showing the football legend posing with staff. They also tagged the account of the former AC Milan star who spent time in prison in Paraguay last year.
The photos read: "GDRFA Dubai received football star Ronaldo de Assis Moreira commonly known as Ronaldinho Gaucho, and gave him The Golden Residency in the presence of His Excellency Major General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA-Dubai and Major General Obaid Muhair bin Surour, Deputy Director of GDRFAD".
Just before the 2002 World Cup winner received his visa, he posted a photo of himself seemingly enjoying life while sipping coffee in front of the sea on Monday.
He captioned the image: "Coffee shop stops in Dubai".
Brazilian newspaper Globo said that, in addition to the beautiful scenery, one thing that stood out was the watch ronaldinho wore. According to luxury watch experts, it is a Swiss brand, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
The report added that the watch was made of white gold and had 1,486 diamonds in the vicinity for a total price of 160,000 pounds (IDR 3.2 billion).
The photo certainly shows a huge improvement since Ronaldinho returned to Brazil after being detained by Paraguayan authorities for months for entering the country with fake documents.
