FSRU Lampung Receives LNG Cargo From Tangguh Field For Generation Needs
The Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) Lampung has again received liquid natural gas (LNG) cargo to serve the needs of a power plant of 132,800 cubic meters from Tangguh Field, Papua.
This LNG acceptance is carried out through the Ship-to-Ship Transfer (STS) process by PGN's subsidiary, PT PGN LNG Indonesia (PLI) on 27-29 October 2025. This STS is the 19th cargo receipt throughout 2025.
"This achievement shows dedication and synergy to serve domestic energy needs by maintaining the reliability of LNG operations at FSRU Lampung, especially to fulfill gas supply for the electricity sector. We are committed to every STS activity that always runs safely, smoothly and on time," said the President Director of PLI, Nofrizal, Friday, November 7.
Nofrizal continued, optimizing FSRU Lampung is one of the vital infrastructures to increase the utilization of domestic LNG. With Beyond pipeline infrastructure, this also proves the company's capabilities in managing LNG infrastructure and increasing its position in national natural gas distribution.
Throughout 2025, FSRU Lampung has distributed LNG with a volume of 53,496,916.60 MMBTU or 175.97 BBTUD. LNG is an important part in serving energy needs in the industrial and power generation sectors, especially in South Sumatra and West Java.

"The Lampung FSRU itself has an LNG storage capacity of 170,000 m3 and an LNG regasification capacity of 240 MMSFD," he said.
As additional information, the use of LNG has the potential to reduce carbon emissions by up to 25 percent, no sulfur, dust, and other particles emissions, so that it can contribute to a better environment.
"With the implementation of STS this time, it is hoped that it can further increase the contribution of PLI as part of the Gas Subholding to provide clean energy for Indonesia, as well as support the energy transition to Net Zero Emission," said Nofrizal.
