GWM Tank 400 Facelift Officially Present, Take A Peek At The Changes

JAKARTA - The Great Wall Motor (GWM) officially launched a 400 facelift Tank in the Chinese market, with increased driver assistance, exterior to its more capable interior than the previous model.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Friday, November 7, the updated GWM Tank 400 maintains a design character with a side profile length of 4,964 mm, a width of 1,970 mm, a height of 1,905 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Compared to the previous model of 21 mm shorter, its width increased by 10 mm, and increased by 5 mm.

The front display offers a redesigned bumper with a black decorative element surrounding the fog light zone, a larger grid with two horizontal chrome blades, and a polygon-shaped headlights.

Side details include a new trim with an open style on the wheel arch, as well as variant-specific side steps (electric on Hi4-T Smart and fixed on Hi4-Z Smart). The back retains a spare wheel mounted on the backdoor with a new covering design and revised badge.

Entering the cabin, this model comes with the main mid-touch screen to a 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 2.5K, down from the previous 16.2-inch size, but with improved clarity and software. The LCD unit instrument cluster is full of 12.3-inch, and head-up views are also included, and come with a play-knop.

A higher trim is presented with a porous leather seat Nappa with heating and front ventilation, as well as a massage feature. Interestingly, the backroom has a 15.6-inch entertainment screen, a 5.4-liter built-in refrigerator mounted on the vehicle.

The new Tank 400 includes various powertrain options to suit different driving preferences. The gasoline version is powered by a 2.0 T engine paired with a 48-volt light hybrid system, produces a maximum output of 185 kW and 385 Nm torque, and is coupled to an automatic transmission of 9 speeds. Meanwhile, the diesel model has a 2.4 T engine that produces 137 kW and 490 Nm, paired with 9 speeds of automatic transmission.

Meanwhile, the Hi4-T variant combines a 2.0 T engine that produces 185 kW with a 130 kW electric motor and a 37.1 kWh battery, offering a pure WLTC electric range of about 105 km and supporting fast charging of up to 103 kW. The Hi4-Z variant couples the same 2.0 T engine with dual electric motors ranked 215 kW and 240 kW, powered by a 59.05 kWh battery that allows for a pure WLTC electric range of about 200 km and fast charging up to 163 kW.

Speaking of prices, this model is priced starting from 239,800 yuan or around Rp562 million.
