Miss Universe Organization Limits The Role Of Nawat Itsaragrisil After Incidents With Mexican Finalists
JAKARTA - The Miss Universe 2025 event which was held in Thailand is now in the spotlight for the attitude shown by the National Director of Miss Universe Thailand, Nawat Itsaragrisil, to one of the finalists, namely Miss Universe Mexico, Fatima Bosch.
The incident occurred during an infiltration session broadcast via the Miss Universe Thailand Facebook account a few days ago. Nawat reprimanded Bosch in front of all the contestants for not attending the sponsorship photo shoot which was held earlier.
Nawat asked Bosch to stand up and explain the reason. However, Bosch looked uncomfortable and said he didn't like to be reprimanded in public, especially in front of other contestants.
The situation escalated after Nawat called Bosch a "stupid". This resulted in Bosch leaving the room, which was followed by several other contestants, including Miss Universe 2024, Victoria Theilvig.
Then Nawat threatened the contestants who came out would be disqualified. However, they seemed not to care about what Nawat said and chose to stay out.
This incident immediately drew strong criticism from the public of Nawat. This condition ultimately led the Miss Universe Organization to take action by limiting Nawat's participation in the event.
"I will not allow the values of women's respect and dignity to be violated. Unfortunately, Nawat has forgotten the true meaning of being a true host," said the President of the Miss Universe Organization, Raul Roch, in a video uploaded on Miss Universe's Instagram, quoted Friday, November 7, 2025.

Raul Rocha emphasized his anger at Nawat's attitude. Nawat was considered to have humiliated and disrespected Fatima Bosch, and asked her to stop immediately.
"Without further ado, I would like to emphasize my deep anger at Nawat for his public aggression against Fatima Bosch, Miss Universe Mexico," he said.
"He has humiliated, insulted, and shown a lack of respect, in addition to serious harassment by calling security officers to intimidate helpless women. Trying to silence and isolate him, Nawat, you have to stop," he added.
Then Raul Rocha emphasized that he had limited Nawat's participation in the event. The organization has also sent executive delegations and diplomatic experts including Mario Bucaro and Ronald Day to Thailand, to take over the Miss Universe 2025 event.
"For the reasons above, I have limited Nawat's participation in events that are part of the 74th Miss Universe Competition. Limiting it as much as possible or even eliminating it altogether," he concluded.
