Totality Of Iko Uwais, Director Of Eastern Films, Willing Not To Go Home For Months For The Best Work
JAKARTA - The action actor Iko Uwais showed his totality while working on the film Timur which marked his directorial debut.
In order to produce maximum work, Iko was willing not to return home for months. Behind the sacrifice, there is full support from his wife, Audy Item, who faithfully awaits him.
Iko Uwais revealed how much Audy played in this new career. Although not directly involved in production, Audy's moral support became a source of strength for Iko to focus on her work.
"Thank God, when Audy returned home, the door was not locked. It's really supportive, Audy is very supportive," said Iko in the South Jakarta area, Thursday, November 6.
The 42-year-old actor admitted that the process of working on a film requires tremendous time and energy. He even had to give up time with his family and stay on set for months to make sure every detail of the film was perfectly worked on.
"Even though I didn't come home, he waited," added Iko.

Now, after all that hard work, Iko feels that his sacrifice has paid off. He is optimistic that his debut film will not only become a new standard for Indonesian action films, but also a pride for his family.
"She (Audy) sees the results now, she can enjoy it. Left by her husband, and her father, my two children, but look at the results for sure, my child will be proud. The work of his parents," concluded Iko.
The film "East" is the first production of Uwais Pictures and is scheduled to be broadcast simultaneously in all Indonesian cinemas starting December 18, 2025.
In addition to directing, Iko Uwais is also the main character in this film. This film also stars actors such as Jimmy Kobogau, Macho Hungan, Aufa Assagaf, Billy Bizael Tanasale, Beyond Destiano, Stefan William, Amara45, and Yusuf Mahardika.
