Prince Harry Celebrates 75 Years Of Thomas And Friends
JAKARTA - Prince Harry gave a surprise animation for Thomas and Friends in the 75th anniversary of the cartoon. Through a video, Harry sends a greeting while introducing the latest program entitled Thomas and Friends: The Royal Engine.
In its latest program, Thomas and Friends: The Royal Engine will have a story plot related to Harry's family, namely Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II, who are presented in animated character versions. The story will center on the Prince of Wales as a child and Thomas's journey to Buckingham Palace to receive a tribute.
Prince Harry's video greeting was released on Tuesday, April 28 in which it features Harry sitting in a chair reading the book Thomas and Friends. It is known that the video was recorded in early January when Harry was still a member of the palace.
"I have fond memories of growing up with Thomas and Friends and moving to a new place with his adventures," said Harry in the 1-minute video.
The husband of Meghan Markle opened the new Thomas and Friends program by explaining that the series entertains, educates, and inspires children with important issues through interesting characters and stories. Video also transitioned when as a child Harry started his first day of school in September 1987 with the school bag with the cartoon from England.
Thomas and Friends is a British American cartoon that first aired in 1984. Throughout its broadcast, Thomas and Friends has been narrated by well-known public figures such as Ringo Starr, Alec Baldwin, and Pierce Brosnan. Created by Britt Allcroft, these cartoons are a source of learning that is widely used by schools and are still popular today.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan announced their resignation from members of the Palace in early 2020. The two decided to seek financially independently and live in North America. After her retirement was formalized in March, Harry and Meghan have now settled in California where Meghan grew up.
