VIDA Encourages Cross-Sector Collaboration To Strengthen Digital Resilience

JAKARTA - VIDA, a provider of digital identity solutions in Indonesia, affirms its commitment to strengthening national digital trust through innovative AI-based authentication solutions.

Founder & Group CEO of VIDA, Niki Luhur, said that digital threats in the future are not only technological issues, but are also used to manipulate people, such as through phishing practices or account takeovers.

"The technology of deepfakes has now reached a point where it is difficult to distinguish between the original and which ones are fake," Niki said in a statement quoted Friday, November 7.

Niki also revealed a new phenomenon that is now rife in cyberspace, namely scanning-as-a-service, a network of fraudsters that provides access to millions of digital accounts.

Recently, it was revealed that the device farm in Latvia served 15,000 fraudsters and accessed 48 million digital accounts. This shows that fraudsters are now operating like companies, complete with infrastructure, data sharing, and collaboration.

With the increasing threat of digital security globally, Niki emphasized the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in strengthening national digital resilience and building an integrated ecosystem capable of maintaining information security from trusted sources.

"We, on the industrial side, must also collaborate on an equally strong scale, between banking, fintech, associations, and digital security providers, to strengthen the resilience of the national digital ecosystem," explained Niki.
