KAI Trials Additional 2 Jabodebek LRT Trainsets, Waiting Time Becomes Shorter

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI will conduct a trial trip with the addition of two series of trains or trainsets of the Jabodebek LRT on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The Executive Vice President of the Jabodebek LRT, Mochamad Purnomosidi, said that with the addition of two trainsets, the number of Jabodebek LRT trips would increase to 430 trips per day, using 26 train series.

Purnomosidi said the trial was carried out with a working day operation pattern (weekday) and an operational schedule that started earlier, namely at 05.12 WIB.

Furthermore, Purnomosidi said this trial was important to ensure the readiness of the system before the official implementation of additional travel.

This trial is part of our commitment to provide more reliable and efficient services. With more travel frequencies, we want to make sure users can enjoy shorter waiting times and more comfortable trips," Purnomosidi said in an official statement, Friday, November 7.

In the trial, said Purnomosidi, an adjustment will be made to the train's waiting time (headway) so that it becomes shorter.

"Headway during peak hours at the Jatimulya or Harjamukti-Cawang (PP) crossing is now 8 minutes 15 seconds. As for the Cawang-Dukuh Atas BNI route, the headway is 4 minutes 7.5 seconds," he said.

In addition to the number of trips, the departure schedule on Saturday, November 8 will also experience adjustments to the schedule for the first and last departures as follows:

-Jati Mulya-Dukuh Atas BNI

First departure: 05.12

Final departure: 22.03

-Dukuh Atas BNI-Jati Mulya

First departure: 06.05

Final departure: 22.55

-Harjamukti-Dukuh Atas BNI

First departure: 05.18

Final departure: 22.11

- Dukuh Atas BNI-Harjamukti

First departure: 06.09

Final departure: 23.02

Purnomosidi said that more detailed information regarding the Jabodebek LRT travel schedule during the trial of adding 2 train series of operations could be seen on the official social media of the Jabodebek LRT.

"After this trial stage, KAI will conduct a thorough evaluation, the trial of adding this trip is a real step for KAI in supporting the mobility of the Jabodebek community, as well as providing efficient, modern, and environmentally friendly public transportation," he concluded.
