From Hong Kong Director Ann Hui To Focus On Reza Rahadian, JAFF 2025 Sow Stars

JAKARTA - The 2025 Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF) will be a meeting place for well-known filmmakers and actors, both from within and outside the country.

This year, the festival will present the legendary director of Hong Kong, Ann Hui, and give a special spotlight on actor Reza Rahadian's career.

"We also brought in a female director from Hong Kong, her name is Ann Hui. So Ann Hui will come to fill in the masterclass," said JAFF Director Program Alexander Matthew in the South Jakarta area, Wednesday, November 5.

Two films by Ann Hui, "A Simple Life" starring Andy Lau and "July Rhapsody", will be screened specifically.

Meanwhile, from the national arena, JAFF will screen three important films in Reza Rahadian's career.

"This year there is also a focus on one of the actors, Reza Rahadian," explained Matthew.

"There are three films that will be shown. The first is Something in the Way... then the National Teacher Tjokroaminoto... and the last one is like Revenge, Rindu Must be Paid Completely," he concluded.

The Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival with the theme Transfiguration itself will be held from November 29 to December 6 at XXI Empire, Yogyakarta.
