Police Urged To Investigate Case Of Student Died At Gading Serpong School

TANGERANG - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) asked the police to thoroughly investigate the case of a 13-year-old junior high school student who died allegedly falling from the eighth floor of an international school in the Gading Serpong area, West Pakulonan Village, Kelapa Dua District, Tangerang Regency.

KPAI Commissioner Diyah Puspitarini assessed that thorough investigation is important so that cases do not cause negative stigma against the families of the victims.

"(We) ask the police to continue to investigate because the rights of children who died were to get clarity on the cause of death clearly so that their children and families do not get a negative stigma," said Diyah, Friday, November 7.

Diyah also expressed deep sorrow to the families of the victims. He hopes that similar incidents will not happen again in the world of education.

For information, the victim is known to be a 13-year-old student who fell from the eighth floor of an international school in Gading Serpong on Monday morning.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Tangerang Police, AKP Wira Graha Setiawan, confirmed the incident. He said the victim had been rushed to the hospital, but died while receiving treatment.

"At the time of the incident, the victim was still alive and immediately taken by the school to the hospital. However, after being in the hospital, the victim was declared dead," said Wira.

The police have conducted a crime scene (TKP) with the Inafis Team and Kelapa Dua Police for about 2 hours from 10.46 WIB.

"We have secured CCTV footage and examined a number of witnesses to find out the exact cause of the victim's fall," said Wira.
