Collaborating With Prinsa Mandagie, Ungu Gives New Breath To My Song

JAKARTA - Ungu's love ballad from the 2000s entitled 'Laguku', has now found his breath again. Not just regular recycling, this hit was revived through collaboration with female soloist, Prinsa Mandagie.

Through this collaboration, the assumption that the old song is no longer relevant seems to be trying to be broken. The latest version of "My Song" is an effort initiated by Enda Ungu, the original songwriter.

The basic idea is simple, which is to bring back the typical Purple romance to the ears of the younger generation, while at the same time reviving a beautiful memory for their loyal listeners. However, Prinsa Mandagie's presence changed the dimension of this song significantly.

With Prinsa's vocal touch, the combination of the nostalgic nuances attached to Ungu and the freshness of the interpretation of young singers results in an attractive harmony. This collaboration successfully brings together two different musical eras in a cohesive union.

"My own song" has long been known as a song that carries the theme of love and longing for an outburst of emotion that is difficult to express verbally, so that music becomes a medium for conveying it.

Interestingly, the idea of collaboration arose because of pressure from fans who massively asked for "My song" to be revived.

"Many fans have asked for this song to be presented again and we feel Prinsa is the most appropriate choice," said Enda in her statement, Thursday, November 6.

"Prinsa has a strong, expressive vocal character and can bring the emotions of this song to a different level," added the 49-year-old musician.

Enda's statement shows that there are careful considerations, not just looking for duet singers, but looking for vocal characters who are able to provide new dimensions.

On the other hand, Prinsa admitted that she was very honored to have the opportunity to have a duet with a band as big as Ungu, a music group that already has a long track record in the Indonesian music industry.

"This song has a special place in the hearts of many people, including myself," said the 26-year-old singer. 'Can bring back with them is an extraordinary experience.'

The release of the duo version of "Laguku" is not just a form of respect for Ungu's musical journey, but also a clear proof that a sincere and honest musical work will never be hampered by time.

With a modern touch, Ungu and Prinsa Mandagie mix a new version of "My Song" that not only retains the warmth and beauty of the original lyrics, but also makes them relevant to today's listeners.

The "Laguku" version of the duet Ungu and Prinsa Mandagie is now available to be heard on all digital streaming services, while the music video can also be watched on Trinity Optima Production's YouTube channel.
