Stream, AI-powered Smart Ring That Can Record Thoughts
JAKARTA - Two former Meta employees, Mina Fahmi and Kiran Hong, officially introduced a new startup called Sandbar. Through this company, they launched a unique wearable device: Stream, an AI-powered smart ring designed to record and organize the users' minds instantly.
Sandbar calls Stream a 'mouse for sound,' because its function goes beyond just accessories "he can record ideas, control music, and interact directly with AI assistants through companion applications on the iPhone. This ring is worn on the index finger and sold at prices ranging from 249 US dollars for silver variants and 299 US dollars for gold variants.
The main feature lies in sensitive microphones and small touchpads on the ring surface. Users simply press and hold the touchpad to start recording. The microphone will be active only when this command is given, keeping privacy secure. In fact, Stream is able to capture smooth whispers and immediately describe them in the companion iOS application.

The Stream app is equipped with an AI chatbot that can have a dialogue with users when they log in. These notes can be automated and edited both by users and AI. The pinch to zoom out feature in the app makes it easier for users to browse old ideas as if browsing personal thought archives.
Apart from noting, this ring also functions as a media controller. The surface can be used to play, stop, skip songs, or adjust volumes. Users who subscribe to Stream Pro for $10 per month will have unlimited access to chats and records, as well as an early exclusive feature.
Sandbar insists that every user has full control over their data. All records are encrypted and can later be exported to other applications such as Notion. CEO Mina Fahmi added, Stream is not just a digital assistant, but a new interface to express ideas naturally.
Stream rings are available for preorders starting today with Pro subscription bonuses for three months. The first shipment is scheduled for next summer, available in size 5 to 13.
With funding capital of 13 million US dollars from True Ventures, Upfront Ventures, and Betaworks, Sandbar appears ready to lead a new wave of wearable devices that allows the human mind to be "written" directly from the finger.
