Support Clean Energy, PGN Initiates To Build Environmentally Friendly BBG Transportation Ecosystem

JAKARTA - PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (PGN Gagas) as part of Pertamina's Gas Subholding continues to be committed to supporting the acceleration of energy transition in the transportation sector through the development of a strong and sustainable gas-fueled vehicle (BBG) ecosystem. This effort is realized through the provision of gas refueling stations (SPBG), vehicle technical services, and education to the public to increase interest in the use of natural gas energy in vehicles.

President Director of PGN Gagas, Santiaji Gunawan, emphasized that this step is a company's strategy in supporting the implementation of clean energy in Indonesia. He said that until now, PGN Gagas has managed 14 SPBGs spread across 7 provinces in Indonesia, with the total distribution of BBG for the transportation sector reaching 1.63 BBTUD as of September 2025.

"The SPBG that we manage has served natural gas needs to various segments of users, ranging from public transportation such as buses and taxis, to private vehicles," said Santiaji, in a statement, Thursday, November 6.

As part of efforts to maintain the reliability of natural gas user vehicles, PGN Gagas also provides free BBG vehicle technical inspection services at a number of SPBGs. This service provides convenience for users while ensuring that vehicle performance remains optimal and supports environmentally friendly transportation activities. In the inspection program which took place from June to August 2025 yesterday, PGN Gagas managed to check nearly 500 vehicles and received a positive response from the public.

"By ensuring that BBG vehicles are always in optimal condition, we support the convenience and security of users and encourage the adoption of clean energy in transportation mobility," said Santiaji.

In addition to infrastructure development and technical services, PGN Gagas is also active in conducting public education regarding the benefits and potential of natural gas energy in the transportation sector. Through collaboration with various parties, such as the Gas Car Community (Komogas) and the Bajaj Gas Community (Kobagas), PGN Gagas seeks to expand the use of BBG as an affordable clean energy alternative.

PGN Gagas is committed to continuing to develop service innovations that strengthen the transition to sustainable mobility in Indonesia through the development of a reliable and safe BBG transportation ecosystem, in line with the national net zero emissions (NZE) target.

"In the future, we will continue to strive to provide solutions that support the use of clean energy in the transportation sector for a greener and more sustainable Indonesia," concluded Santiaji.
