A Cherry Tree In Front Of Slipi Mall Was Struck By A Truck And Fell

JAKARTA - A cherry tree in front of Slipi Jaya Mall in Slipi, Palmerah, West Jakarta, fell onto the road after being hit by a cement mixer truck on Thursday afternoon.

However, the fallen tree did not hit any street vendors (PKL) in the area or passing motorists.

"Initially, it was hit by the cement mixer, then it swayed in the wind. It was around 12:30 WIB," said an eyewitness at the scene, Esti (34).

The snack vendor said the cherry tree that was hit by the cement mixer truck did not immediately fall onto the road.

The tree fell after being buffeted by strong winds during a light rain that afternoon.

"It wasn't caused by the wind. Initially, it was hit by the cement mixer, and then it swayed in the wind. The cement mixer just blew away," she said.

At the scene, officers removed the cherry tree that had fallen onto the road.

One of the police officers was at the scene to regulate traffic which was temporarily blocked by the fallen tree.
