InDrive Prepare Cashless Payments In Applications, Make Sure There Are No Changes In Tariffs

JAKARTA - InDrive, an international online transportation service provider company will soon launch a direct non-cash payment method on its app in 2026.

Currently, inDrive services only accept payments in cash and transfer directly to drivers outside the app. However, seeing the large number of requests for non-cash payments in the application, inDrive will soon present them.

InDrive is indeed left behind regarding non-cash payments in the application compared to its competitors. However, Rio Aristo, explained that the process of going to the cashless payment system takes time.

According to him, if they involve cooperation with third parties, apart from ensuring the company is officially licensed, they must also think about additional costs such as application fees or other fees.

"Because it's true, if we do non-cash, there will definitely be cooperation with third parties who have been licensed. So the negotiations have been quite good so far, from what the cost is," Rio said in the Munich Media with inDrive on Thursday, November 5 in Jakarta.

This step was taken because InDrive hoped that this fee would not burden all parties, both in terms of the driver commission and passengers.

"Because inDrive is committed that even if there is a non-cash payment there will be no change in the tariff or regarding the commission imposed on the driver, because that is the last thing we really don't want in the inDrive application," he said.

He also said that most of the countries where inDrive operates are still relying on cash payments for similar reasons.

"Because again, if you are non-cash in any country, it must be a third party, right, it's also called a business, yes, they definitely want a fee like that. Now here our goal is to suppress as low as possible," Rio concluded.
