Apple Akan Capai Kesepakatan Gemini Yang Dukung Siri Senilai Rp16,7 Triliun

JAKARTA Apple and Google are reportedly finalizing an updated Gemini model supply deal to Siri. This deal is estimated to be worth $1 billion.

This report first appeared in Bloomberg. Google is said to have won the competition for providing Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Apple's ecosystem. The Android developer is known to have succeeded in defeating competitors such as Anthropic.

According to sources familiar with this issue, Apple's decision to choose Google is based on the price offered by the company. However, Apple still pays attention to the performance of the AI model, especially to support the progress of Siri.

The digital assistant has been promised a lot of improvements since iOS 18 was launched. Unfortunately. The various obstacles faced by Apple made it difficult for the company to launch Siri which was upgraded with AI.

Now, AI-backed Siri is set to release next spring. If the news is correct, Apple will use a dedicated AI model from Google which has 1.2 trillion parameters. This number exceeds Apple's current AI model capabilities.

By comparison, Apple's internal cloud-based AI model currently has only about 150 billion parameters. Meanwhile, Apple's models designed for local performance on devices have only 3 billion parameters.

While it seems like this is a big deal, Google will not take over the updated Siri function. Gemini will only handle a number of tasks, such as dealing with planter and summarization functions.

This ability will greatly assist Siri in combining various information and deciding how to carry out more complex tasks. Some of Siri's basic features will continue to use the internal model developed by Apple.
