Prabowo Is Responsible For Badminton, Deputy Head Of DPR: If There Are Legal Problems, We Will Ask The Apparatus Later
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal, responded to President Prabowo Subianto's statement that he would be responsible for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train debt.
Cucun said the DPR had not yet discussed theqsh matter so it had not yet been decided whether to encourage an investigation into the alleged law or not.
According to Cucun, in time the debt issue will run so that the DPR is waiting for further developments.
"Yes, if the legal problem is definitely different, yes. I already know that everything has been talked about, the business matters, legal matters, will definitely work later," said Cucun at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 5.
Cucun said the DPR would discuss debt issues during this trial. Later, he said, the relevant commission will see if there are allegations of violations in the implementation of the project or not.
"The DPR also sees that DPR friends must if they face legal problems, they will ask law enforcement officials," he said.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that he would be responsible for the polemic of financing the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed rail project. He asked PT KAI and the public not to worry.
"PT KAI doesn't have to worry, everyone doesn't have to worry. We serve the people. We are fighting for our people. Technology, all facilities, it is a shared responsibility and that is at the end of the responsibility of the President of the Republic of Indonesia. So I am now responsible for that," Prabowo said after trying out the KRL in the Tanah Abang Station area, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, November 4.
The President admitted that he had studied debt and operational financing issues. According to his calculations, Indonesia is still able to pay.
"I've learned the problem. There's no problem, I'll take responsibility for the debt later, everyone. Indonesia is not just a country. We count, there's no problem with that," he said.

Prabowo said the government should not calculate profits in providing decent public transportation for residents. He considered that public transportation is a mandatory service or Public Service Obligation (PSO).
Prabowo also gave an example that currently the government provides subsidies of up to 60 percent of train services, so that people can access trains in an affordable manner.
"This is the presence of the state. Where did the money come from? The money came from people's money. The money was from taxes. The money was from the state's wealth. That's why we have to prevent all leaks," explained Prabowo.
"We really have to stop misappropriation and corruption. People's money cannot be stolen, because we will return it to services for the people," continued the president.
