Car Attack Hits Pedestrians In French Oleron, Several People Injured
JAKARTA - A car driver hit a pedestrian and cyclist on Oleron Island, France, off the Atlantic coast. The accident resulted in several people being injured.
The 35-year-old suspect shouted "Allahu Akbar" when he was arrested by the police, local prosecutor Arnaud Laraize told the Sud Ouest newspaper.
French media reported that the motive for the attack was still unclear and the anti-terrorism prosecutor's office was not responsible for the investigation at this stage.
As reported by Reuters on Wednesday, November 5, nine people were injured when the suspect's car hit them in various areas of Oleron Island, Dolus-d'Oleron Mayor Thibault Brechkoff told BFM TV.
Nunez said two of the injured were in the intensive care room - several French media later reported that four of them experienced the same thing.
