Prabowo Receives 49 Names Of Prospective Heroes, There Are Suharto And Gus Dur

JAKARTA - c.

Fadli Zon explained that of the 49 names, 24 of them were names on the priority list.

"The process of proposing this hero is the process from below, from the community, from regencies/cities, then there is a research team consisting of experts from various backgrounds. After returning from regencies/cities to provinces, there are also research teams, academics, and a number of figures who think (called) TP2GP yes, then after that to TP2GP at the Ministry of Social Affairs," said Fadli Zon explaining the flow of proposing a national hero candidate during a press conference at the Presidential Palace. RI, Jakarta, Wednesday, November 5 reported by ANTARA.

From the Central Level Research and Study Team (TP2GP), the names proposed as candidates for national heroes were submitted to the Council for Titles, Services, and Honors (GTK).

FadliZon, who is also the Minister of Culture and currently leads the GTK Council, explained that of the 49 names, nine names are the names of candidates who have passed the stages of proposing and studying in previous years. While 40 names are those whose proposals and assessment process is carried out this year.

"So, no one does not meet the requirements. Everything's struggle is clear, background, life history, and has been scientifically tested, yes, this history of struggle has been carefully investigated through severallayers, several stages. Later we will see the progress," said Fadli Zon when met after facing President Prabowo.

FadliZon explained that the GTK Council will also review the list of potential heroes by considering the origin areas of proposing, gender, and other factors.

Regarding the name of the 2nd President Suharto who is also on the list of candidates for national heroes, Fadli explained that the proposal was also given by the community.

Meanwhile, when asked about protests and opposition from a number of people regarding Suharto's candidacy as a national hero, Fadli said the rejection and protests were input.

"Yes, I think that's an input, yes, but we see the extraordinary services, because earlier all 49 of these names were the services of people who had been considered by cooking through studies. They contributed tremendously, so they were proposed. If not (performing, ed.), it is impossible to propose. So, regarding meeting the requirements, it meets the requirements," continued Fadli.

Fadli then gave an example of Suharto's services so that they were considered worthy of being nominated as national heroes, including leading the March 1, 1949 General Offensive during the Dutch Aggression II and West Irian Liberation Operations.
