Defend Dekai From The Threat Of The Papuan KKB, A Number Of Road Points Are Guarded By The Police

JAKARTA - The Yahukimo Police have deployed their personnel to guard a number of roads in Dekai, especially in crowded centers to provide a sense of security to residents.

The Head of Operations for the Yahukimo Police, AKP Yerianto Somalinggi, said the activity was to provide a sense of security to residents in Dekai to feel comfortable when doing activities.

During this activity, he said, his party was supported by members of the Mobile Brigade of the Papua Police who served in Dekai.

"People seem to feel comfortable and safe because they see the presence of members of the National Police guarding a number of crowded centers," Yerianto said in Dekai, Wednesday, as quoted by Antara.

He hopes that the steps taken can overcome potential disturbances in public order in Yahukimo Regency and provide a sense of security and comfort to the community in their activities.

The program is a follow-up to the results of the Papuan Police's anev regarding disturbances in the security and social order that occurred in the jurisdiction of the Yahukimo Police.

Based on the results of the anev, there were 21 prominent cases of kamtibmas disturbances that occurred between March and October, resulting in 34 fatalities, consisting of two security forces and 32 civilians, while 21 others were injured.

"Most of the incidents were allegedly carried out by armed criminal groups (KKB) and sympathizers," said Yerianto.
