Apple Develops Cheap Macs With 'A' Series Processor For IPhone

JAKARTA Apple is developing a Mac at affordable prices. Reportedly, this device will be launched in the first half of next year to expand its market segment.

Launching from a Bloomberg report, Apple is taking an unusual way to keep the price of this device affordable. The company will use a series A processor or processor that is usually used for mobile devices.

This laptop is expected to be sold for under 1.000 US dollars (IDR 16.7 million). This price is expected to be equivalent to the iPad entry-level price built with Magic Keyboard Folio accessories.

Despite using the iPhone processor, it is believed that its performance will remain promising like other Mac series. Apple's test results show that the iPhone processor is capable of outperforming M1, a processor developed a few years ago for Macs and iPads.

This laptop is rumored to have a new design to distinguish its device from other MacBook lines. This device will be aimed at ordinary users, including students and workers who don't want to spend too much money.

The Mac will use a slightly smaller size 'low-grade LCD screen' than the 13.6-inch MacBook Air. This news is in line with a report by supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo earlier this year.

Kuo had reported on the development of the Mac at this more affordable price. He estimates that this laptop will be powered by the A18 Pro processor which is also used in the iPhone 16 Pro lineup.

On the other hand, Apple is still paying attention to its premium line. The company is reported to have completed the development of the M5 processor powered MacBook Air. This device will be released early next year.
