Brantas Abipraya Realizes Green Commitment, Collaborates On Waste Processing In Likupang
JAKARTA - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has implemented an environmentally friendly waste management program in Likupang. Through the BUMN Waste Process Collaboration program in Likupang, it is an initiative of the Ministry of SOEs since 2022, which is currently transforming into a BUMN Regulatory Agency (BP), as a form of support for sustainable waste management and community empowerment in the Likupang Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP), North Minahasa Regency.
"This is Brantas Abipraya's step in showing his commitment to environmental sustainability through waste management and processing activities in the Likupang area, North Sulawesi. Through Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) the company focuses on reducing waste and empowering communities around Likupang," said Tumpang Muhammad, Director of HR and General Brantas Abipraya, in his statement, Wednesday, November 5.
Tumpang Muhammad added that this action was part of Brantas Abipraya's commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially points 11 concerning Sustainable Cities and Communities as well as points 13 regarding the handling of Climate Change. This state-owned construction hopes that this activity can inspire the community to play an active role in protecting the environment, especially in priority tourist areas.
For information, BP BUMN appointed 28 SOEs in this program. and divided into 2 stages, stage 1 in 2022-2023 has been provided with basic facilities for waste management and environmental education as well as the construction of the BUMN Bakti House in Likupang Village, which has now become a common space that lives as a center for social and economic activities of the local community.
The second stage (2023'2025) focuses on developing community capacity and developing circular economies through the revitalization of gazebos on Paal Beach, providing waste processing machines, as well as technical and entrepreneurial training at BUMN Bakti Houses. This program is carried out as a form of support for the achievement of SDGs 11, 12, and 13 which are included in the Environmental Pillars, focusing on sustainable urban development, guaranteeing responsible consumption and production patterns, and urgent action to tackle climate change.
As a follow-up to the series of programs, these 28 SOEs have carried out activities with the theme Monitoring Evaluation of the Likupang Waste Process Collaboration Program and Handover of BUMN Bakti Houses to ensure the sustainability of waste management and benefit the local community.
"On behalf of the North Minahasa Regency Government, I express my highest appreciation for the programs that have been running since 3 years ago, in addition to helping to maintain the cleanliness of our area, the training and assistance provided are very useful and have a positive impact from an environmental and economic perspective," said Novly, secretary of the North Minahasa Regency.
This program is the result of the synergy of 28 SOEs that are jointly committed to supporting sustainable environmental management, namely Brantas Abipraya, IFG, Jamkrindo, Jasa Raharja, Askrindo, Jasindo, WIKA, Pelindo, PNM, PLN, BNI, PP, Perum Peruri, BTN, BRI, Perum LPPNPI (Airnav), Hutama Karya, PELNI, Adhi Karya, Garuda Indonesia, Perum Perumnas, Angkasa Pura, ASDP, RIU, Nindya Karya, PTPN I, Perum Bulog, and Semen Indonesia. This inter-BUMN collaboration is expected to be a real form for a clean, empowered, and sustainable Indonesia in supporting sustainable development.

With this waste processing program, Brantas Abipraya not only builds physical infrastructure, but also builds public awareness and concern for the environment, towards a cleaner and more sustainable Indonesia.
