BPS: Indonesia's Economy Quarter III-2025 Grows 5.04 Percent

JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) revealed that economic growth in the third quarter of 2025 reached 5.04 percent year on year (yoy) when compared to the same quarter in the previous year of 4.95 percent.

BPS Deputy for Balance and Statistics Analysis Moh Edy Mahmud revealed that Indonesia's economy based on Indonesia's gross domestic product or GDP in the third quarter of 2025 at current prices (ADHB) was IDR 6,060.0 trillion and on the basis of constant prices (ADHK) it reached IDR 3,444.8 trillion.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's economy based on gross domestic product or Indonesia's GDP in the third quarter of 2024 at current prices of IDR 5,638.9 trillion and on the basis of constant prices it reached IDR 3,279.5 trillion.

"So that Indonesia's economic growth in the third quarter of 2025 when compared to the third quarter of 2024 or year on year grew by 5.04 percent," he said at a press conference, Wednesday, November 5.

The national economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 reached 5.12 percent (yoy) or quarterly (quarter to quarter/qtq) grew 1.43 percent.

Meanwhile, during the period January to September 2025 (cumulative-to-cumulative / ctc) the Indonesian economy grew 5.01 percent.

He explained that Indonesia's economy was based on gross domestic product or GDP Indonesia in the second quarter of 2025 at current prices of IDR 5,947.0 trillion and on the basis of constant prices it reached IDR 3,396.3 trillion.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the government would announce economic growth data for the third quarter of 2025 on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 11.00 WIB.

"Economic projection (quarter III 2025) tomorrow (Wednesday 5 November 2025), 11 (WIB), wait for tomorrow at 11 (WIB)," he told the media crew,

He added that economic growth in the third quarter of this year is estimated to be still in line with the positive trend that has been going on for the last seven years.

"The third quarter (2025) is consistent with the growth (economic) of the last 7 years," he said.

However, regarding economic growth in the third quarter of 2025, Airlangga did not mention a definite figure, but he is optimistic that Indonesia's economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 will exceed the achievement in the second quarter which is at 5.12 percent.

"We know that economic growth in the second quarter (2025) is 5.12 percent, in the third quarter we are waiting for the announcement tomorrow at 11. For the record, Indonesia's economic growth rate in the third quarter showed fluctuations from year to year. In 2018, growth was recorded at 5.17 percent, then 5.02 percent in 2019. When the pandemic hit in 2020 the economy contracted to 3.49 percent.

Entering 2021, growth again was positive to 3.51 percent, then increased to 5.72 percent in 2022. In the following two years, growth was recorded at 4.94 percent in 2023 and 4.95 percent in 2024, respectively.
