Minister Of Culture Fadli Zon Takziah: Commitment To Save Surakarta Palace Heritage
The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, expressed his deep condolences for the death of Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwana XIII, the leader of Kasunanan Surakarta Hadiningrat who died on Sunday, November 2, 2025.
Fadli Zon was present at the Surakarta Palace on Tuesday night (4/11). "On behalf of the Ministry of Culture, I would like to express my deep condolences for the death of the King of the Surakarta Palace, Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwana XIII," he said.
On that occasion, the Minister of Culture emphasized the government's commitment to maintaining the sustainability of the cultural heritage of the Surakarta Palace. The Ministry of Culture is currently facilitating the restoration of the Songgo Buwono Stage and the Surakarta Palace Museum as a national cultural heritage. "We want this historic asset to continue to live and become the pride of the nation," said Fadli.

Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwana XIII was born June 28, 1948. He took the throne in 2004 as the eldest son of Sri Susuhunan Pakubuwana XII. During his tenure, he was known to maintain the role of the palace as a center of tradition, traditional ceremonies, and Javanese culture.
The Minister of Education and Culture's Takziah was also attended by special staff and cultural heritage protection officials. The government assesses that the leadership of the deceased left an important value legacy for national culture which will continue to be continued by the next generation.
