Facing The Rainy Season, The Ministry Of Public Works Ensures Heavy Equipment And Emergency Response Teams Are On Standby 24 Hours
The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PU) ensures that all ranks are ready to face potential hydrometeorological disasters in line with the rainy season in various parts of Indonesia.
"BMKG has warned of extreme weather. Therefore, we ensure that all disaster response equipment and teams at each hall are ready to be deployed 24 hours," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo in Bandung, West Java, Tuesday, November 4.
He emphasized that the West Java region and several other provinces are expected to face high rainfall which has the potential to cause flooding and landslides.
For this reason, the Ministry of Public Works checks the readiness of heavy equipment, water pumps, and other supporting equipment.
"Don't let it happen when a landslide or flood occurs, our equipment is not ready. If something is lacking, we have prepared a budget to immediately complete it," he said.
In addition to equipment, increasing the capacity of human resources is also a major concern.
Each PUPR main hall has a disaster task force that coordinates directly with BNPB, BPBD, and local governments.
There should no longer be a communication gap between the hall and BNPB or BPBD. Communication must be strong and fast, because in an emergency every second means people's lives and property," he said.

Terkait anggaran kebencanaan, pihaknya memastikan kondisi masih aman.
"Kalau pun ada kekurangan, kami akan ajukan tambahan ke presiden,” ujarnya.

The Ministry of PUPR will also prepare disaster response call centers and expand information socialization through social media and local government networks so that coordination will run smoothly.
Regarding the disaster budget, his party ensures that conditions are still safe.
"Even if there are shortcomings, we will submit an addition to the president," he said.
